Charity

I was watching "The Fabulous Life of..." on VH1 and they had a segment on Warren Buffett - the second richest man in the world who in 2006 had a net worth of 47 billion dollars.

Did you know that in 2006 Warren Buffett donated 37 BILLION dollars to charity? That was just one single donation - the single largest philanthropic gift in history. 31 billion of that went to the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation. Bill said that with that donation there was a really good chance that the 20 most deadly diseases in the world could be cured.

What could 37 billion buy you?
  • Every franchise in the NFL.

  • 18 space shuttles.

  • The Sears tower - 37 times over.

  • Every single home in the state of Delaware.

How many lottery tickets could you buy?

That would buy you 37 billion lotto tickets, or 74 billion 50 cent pull tabs, or 148 billion 25 cent pull tabs!
